I always thought it was nearly impossible to combine frugality with healthy living. So don't mind that I find it comical that I am posting about incorporating my resolutions in my life and combining health and saving money into another post again!
This time, we're talking GYM! You all know every gym across the United States is packed with resolutioners. Spending tons of money and most likely going to waste it breaking those resolutions and being too lazy to cancel it.. (I'm going to go back on Monday).
For the last four months, I've been waiting to get in on a deal Kaiser Permanente has for gym memberships. Pay $100 for a year of access to a gym (including 24 Hour Fitness). That would definitely save me money and help me towards my goal of being healthy.
One way I've changed since becoming an Instant Mommie is the desire to get home, whether it be because a list of choires are waiting for me or I just want to see my boys. It is "hum-bug" to go to the gym with all the traffic we have in Hawaii, then come home, take a shower, make dinner, relax, etc.
So... GENIUS IDEA (light bulb), save more money and time while still getting healthy. Enter company wellness room! My 9-5 offers a workout room available after 4pm for employees to use (cardio equipment, other machines, pool, etc.). Besides saving that $100, I'm saving gas (more money), time and I feel I wouldn't lose the drive to workout walking down 2 flights of stairs versus sitting in traffic for 45 minutes. I can hear the excuses already: oh, I'm tired; oh, I got to make dinner; oh, the ellipticals are all taken.. the list goes on!
So here's to saving money and giving myself a worth while shot at routine exercise... now if I can only remember to pack my clothes! ...just kidding!
